Job Description:

Mercy Corps has been implementing TB control interventions in Pakistan since 2002. In 2007, Mercy Corps became the first private sector principal recipient for The Global Fund TB grant to Pakistan. Since then, Mercy Corps has been implementing country-wide TB control interventions directly and through implementing partners. Mercy Corps - Project Implementing Unit (MC-PIU) has been implementing TB control interventions in 10 districts of province Punjab. Under the TB program, MC-PIU is implementing public-private mix interventions (PPM), as well as community engagement, specimen transportation and active case finding. The project is funded by Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation, will complement the TB Program by supporting the development and deployment of a case-based digital TB notification system, together with a range of functionality in support of private provider engagement.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for trouble shooting and apps management in coordination with Project Coordinator
  • Installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems
  • Run and maintain basic Server services including File Server, FTP, DHCP, SSH, etc.
  • Run and maintain basic LAN & WAN in Office/Corporate Environment
  • Ensure system backup system is in place on user systems as well as backup on Cloud Storage. Configure & Confirm user data security.
  • Many peripherals have to be set up in order to complement the computer network. These can include things such as printers, keyboards, Switches, Wi-Fi Access Points, routers, modems, and smart devices. It is the IT assistant’s responsibility to set up those peripherals and ensure that they are both functional and secure.
  • Regularly monitor and maintain computer systems and networks Devices
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles on systems and in Server
  • Provide support in procedural documentation and relevant reports
  • Troubleshooting/Provision of technical onsite/remote support to staff as required through on phone requests and ticketing system
  • Facilitate staff in virtual/remote calls and meetings
  • Maintain accurate and updated IT equipment Inventory
  • Have understanding of Android and IOS based Mobile phones and applications
  • Ability to determine the equipment that meets organization’s requirements
  • Analyzes future needs for acquisition related to IT Infrastructure
  • Regular field visits to support field staff in troubleshooting of the IT systems
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT)
  • A minimum of 3-year experience in managing android applications and digital tools and systems.
  • Experience of maintaining and troubleshooting medium sized networks (LAN and WAN)
  • Knowledge and experience of managing backups using organization standards  
  • Demonstrated understanding of local laws, policies and protocols of different INGOs/ donor agencies. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication, fluency in both written and spoken English/Urdu.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members and a proven ability to solve problems independently without direct supervision.
